Our Chiropractor Answers Questions About Network Spinal Analysis

chiropractor showing model of the spine in Phoenix, AZ

If you've been struggling with recurring pain issues that have forced you to undergo the same treatment time and time again, you may be a candidate for a specific kind of therapy called Network Spinal Analysis, or NSA. Our chiropractor at Soloman Chiropractic, Dr. Michael Soloman, DC, is the only chiropractor in the area who offers this particular form of care -- so as you can imagine, we field a lot of questions on the subject. Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about NSA.

  • What is the basic concept behind NSA? NSA revolves around the idea that the body's own nervous system is capable of recognizing and dissipating tension within the body so that it can heal itself with optimal efficiency, with the aid of some gentle touches by the chiropractor.

  • How is NSA different from other forms of chiropractic care? Traditional chiropractic care focuses on correcting subluxation (joint misalignment); while NSA focuses on relieving the stresses and tensions that so often promote these alignment issues and cause them to recur even after successful spinal adjustments, resulting in back pain, neck pain and other symptoms.

  • Where did my tension come from? The body is capable of holding on to tension produced by traumas or emotional stresses long past. The accumulated tension can eventually grow strong enough to cause shifts in the body's alignment that result in pain, emotional issues and neural dysfunction.

  • How does NSA relieve longstanding stresses and tension in the body? When gentle pressure is applied to key areas of the spine, our chiropractor affects the nervous system so that two different types of healing waves are generated -- an initial "respiratory wave" from the sacral spine, and a "somatopsychic" wave directed by the brain through the central nervous system.

  • What do these healing waves do? The healing waves act as a self-correcting mechanism for the body, improving the interface between the brain and the nervous system and improving overall systemic function. This improved internal communication allows the body to heal itself by dissipating areas of pent-up tension.

  • Is there science behind NSA? There certainly is. A University of California, Irvine College of Medicine study of 2,818 patients found that 78 percent of them experienced significant improvements in their quality of life in the major categories of stress, emotion, life enjoyment and physical well-being.

  • What conditions can NSA help me with? NSA can aid greatly in pain relief. Back pain, neck pain and other side effects of subluxation can be relieved without drugs or surgery. It can also make your body more flexible and adaptable to stress, reducing anxiety while boosting your energy and mood.

Testimonial

"I’ve been getting Chiropractic care for many years, but it was always treatment for the same issues. While I got temporary relief, I’d be back several months for the same problem. With NSA, I’m feeling like I’m truly making progress. I am standing taller, running with far less pain, and feeling calmer overall. Thanks Dr. Mike!"
